Indications
Induction and maintenance of general anesthesia.
Dose / Application / Administration
Route of administration:
Isoflurane should be administered by means of a perfectly calibrated vaporizer in an appropriate anesthetic circuit. Isoflurane must be administered in oxygen or oxygen/nitrous oxide mixtures.
Dosage:
The minimum alveolar oxygen concentration (MAC) or DE50 effective dose values and concentrations for each one of the species must be used only as a guide or starting point. The concentration required in practice will depend on many variables, including the simultaneous use of other drugs during the anesthesic procedure and the clinical status of the patient.
Recovery from isoflurane is normally smooth and rapid. The analgesic needs of the patient must be considered before the anesthesia wears off.
In periods of pregnancy and lactation, use only in accordance with the benefit-risk assessment carried out by the responsible veterinarian.
