EquiAlveoPlug is a gelatine sponge containing colloidal silver that can be used to prevent wound infection and post-extraction bleeding. Unlike pure gelatine sponges, the presence of silver helps to provide antibacterial activity throughout the entire absorption period.
Rapid surgical haemostasis
Support for clot formation
Broad-spectrum antibacterial effect
Complete resorption
How to use EquiAlveoPlug?
Once the tooth has been extracted and the area is filled with blood, dry EquiAlveoPlug is applied to the wound. EquiAlveoPlug can be cut to the desired size for a perfect fit, but must not be compressed.
The sponge will absorb blood and act immediately to promote blood clot formation and stop the bleeding. No further irrigation is required, as the placement of EquiAlveoPlug constitutes treatment of the socket. If necessary, the wound can now be sutured with EquiAlveoPlug in place.
Keep the cover tightly closed to ensure a longer life span.
