GLUCOSAVET PERFUSION SOL. 5% 1000ML 10U

This medicament is administered by intravenous perfusion to treat dehydration (in the absence of shock) in all indicated species. Is used to replace the water when it cannot be ingested or retained orally. It can also be used to correct hypernatremia and aid in the correction of hyperkalemia.
The infusion of a glucose solution of 5g/100ml is not a significant source of calories but can provide transient relief from hypoglycemia.

Route of administration:
Intravenous. Administer slowly by intravenous perfusion.
Dosage:
This medicament should not be administered at a rate greater than 10ml/kg body weight/hour, otherwise, osmotic diuresis and glycosuria may occur.
The infusion speed must be calculated in accordance with the condition, body weight and level of dehydration of the animal being treated.
The total volume of fluid to be administered must consider the existing deficit, maintenance requirements and ongoing losses.

During pregnancy and lactation periods, use only in accordance with the benefit-risk assessment carried out by the responsible veterinarian.
