Indications
Prevention and treatment of surgical, post-traumatic, obstetric and gynecological bleeding.
Dose / Application / Administration
Route of administration:
Intramuscular or intravenous.
Dosage:
Administer a dose between 5 and 12,5mg of ethamsylate/kg l.w., equivalent to 0,04 and 0,1ml/kg l.w./day of medicament, depending on the severity of the process/bleeding. The treatment is normally carried out until the desired effect is achieved; it can be for one day, but it could be repeated for another 2 or 3 days to achieve control of the bleeding.

- As a preventive of surgical bleeding: administer at least 30 minutes before surgery.
- As treatment for an ongoing process: it can be administered up to every 6 hours until bleeding has completely stopped.
In cases of rupture of large blood vessels, it is necessary to perform ligation of these before administering this medicament.
Do not administer more than 20ml of medicament at a single point of injection. Every injection must be done at a different site.
The safety of this medication during pregnancy and lactation has not been proven. Use only in accordance with the benefit-risk assessment carried out by the responsible veterinarian.
