Description

The SNAP* Foal IgG Test is an enzyme immunoassay for semi-quantitative detection of immunoglobulin G (IgG) in equine serum, plasma or whole blood.

Kit components:
  • 1 bottle of sample diluent. Preserved with ProClinTM 150.
  • 1 bottle of anti-equine IgG conjugate. Preserved with ProClinTM 150.
  • 1 SNAP Foal IgG device (containing substrate solution and wash solution)
  • 2 sample loops
Store at 2 to 8 °C

Indications

Quick and Accurate Detection of Neonate IgG Levels is Critical.

  • Low levels of IgG can lead to bacterial infections, arthritis, pneumonia and enteritis.
  • Up to 25% of foals may have low levels of IgG.1
  • Foals have only 24 hours after birth to absorb immunoglobulins from the colostrum.
  • Delayed test results necessitate costly intravenous delivery of immunoglobulins.
  • If left untreated, defenseless foals may die.
