Indications
Prevention and treatment of iron-deficiency anemia in horses.
- Anemic and preanemic states
- Horses recovering from piroplasmosis
- Lack of appetite
- Decreased work capacity
- Malnutrition in general
- Growth disorders

Dose / Application / Administration
Route of administration:
Intravenous. By direct intravenous injection into the jugular vein or by mixing the contents of a 20ml vial with 500ml sterile physiological saline solution and administering it immediately by slow perfusion.
At the moment of administration, the solution must have a temperature above 15ºC.
Dosage:

Dosage:
- Foals after weaning: 10ml of medicament [200mg of iron (III)] daily.
- Mares and adult horses: 50ml of medicament (1000mg of iron (III) every other day up to a total of 200ml (4 injections), or 20ml of medicament [400mg of iron (III) daily for a maximum of 10 consecutive days.
The duration of the treatment will depend on the hemoglobin level, the body requirements, and the clinical response of the animal.
Before administering the first therapeutic dose, it is recommended to check tolerance with a slow intravenous test injection. If no reactions are observed, the full dose can be administered no sooner than 15min. later.
Contraindications have not been described during pregnancy and lactation periods.
