POTASSIUM CHLORIDE 20X20ML

Route of administration:
Potassium concentrates should never be administered directly into a vein but should be diluted. This supplement should be added to a fluid therapy solution for replacement or maintenance intravenous perfusion. It is recommended to not exceed a maximum rate of administration of 0,5mEq/kg/h (equivalent to 10ml/kg/hour) in order to introduce them into the cell and never reach dangerous levels in the blood; usually the right speed is from 0,1 to 0,2mEq/kg/h.
Dosage:
The doses should be frequently adjusted for the patient, and continuous monitoring of plasma concentrations should be performed. When the severity of hypokalemia is known, an administration regime is recommended:

If the serum potassium concentration is not known, 20 – 40mEq/l potassium chloride should be added to the solution for intravenous perfusion.

During pregnancy and lactation periods, use only in accordance with the benefit-risk assessment made by the responsible veterinarian.
