Indications
HORSES:
For sedation and mild anesthesia in horses to facilitate physical examination and treatments such as minor surgeries.

For slow intravenous or intramuscular administration. The desired effect is achieved more quickly by intravenous administration.

Dosage:
- 0,1 – 0,2ml/100kg: Level of sedation: Mild. / Effect start (min.): 3 – 5 minutes. / Effect duration (hours): 0,5 – 1 hours.
- 0,2 – 0,4ml/100kg: Level of sedation: Moderate. / Effect start (min.): 3 – 5 minutes. / Effect duration (hours): 0,5 – 1 hours.
- When prolonged sedation and analgesia are required, doses of 40µg/kg to 80µg/kg live weight can be used. The duration of the effect is up to 3 hours.
- To combine with other products to enhance sedation or as medication prior to the administration of general anesthesia, doses of 10 to 30µg/kg can be used. It is recommended to wait 15 minutes after the administration of detomidine before beginning the planned intervention.
Do not use this medication during the last trimester of pregnancy. Use only in accordance with the benefit-risk assessment carried out by the responsible veterinarian during pregnancy.
