Dose / Application / Administration

Route of administration:
It is administered in a single injection.
Dosage:
  • Cattle: ivermectin should be administered at a dose of 200 micrograms per kg of body weight (1 ml/50 kg). It should be injected subcutaneously in front or behind the shoulder using aseptic technique. The use of a sterile 17 gauge, 12.7 mm needle (equivalent to a half-inch needle) is recommended. The use of an extraction needle is recommended to avoid excessive puncture of the plug.
  • Pigs: the drug should be administered at a dose of 300 micrograms per kg live weight (1 ml/33 kg). It should be injected subcutaneously into the neck using aseptic technique. The use of a sterile 17 gauge, 12.7 mm needle (equivalent to a half-inch needle) is recommended. Accurate dosing is important, especially in pigs with low body weight, therefore a syringe that can accurately dispense quantities of at least 0.1 ml should be used.
The drug can be administered during pregnancy and lactation in sows and cows as long as the milk is not intended for human consumption.
