PHARMACEUTICAL FORM
Injectable solution.

Indications

Relief of acute spasms of the gastrointestinal (colic) and urinary tract. Symptomatic and supportive treatment in disorders caused by intestinal hypermotility.

As a supportive measure in procedures that require a reduction in peristalsis of the gastrointestinal tract or a reduction in contractions in the urinary tract.

Dose / Application / Administration

Routes of administration:
Intravenous route in horses, cattle and sheep.
Intramuscular route in pigs.
Dosage:
To reduce smooth muscle contractions in the gastrointestinal or urinary tract (antispasmolytic effect):
  • Horses, cattle and pigs: 0.2-0.4mg of scopolamine butylbromide/kg intravenously (equivalent to 0.1-0.2ml/10kg).
  • Ovine: 0.7mg/kg intravenously (equivalent to 0.35mg/10kg).
If necessary, the treatment can be repeated once after the initial administration at 12 hours according to veterinary criteria.
Only in cases in which intravenous administration is not possible will it be administered intramuscularly using the high dose range that corresponds to the target species.

For clinical procedures:
The same doses described previously for each species will be administered but administered only intravenously and immediately before the moment inactivity in the gastrointestinal or urinary tract is needed.

Slow administration is recommended both intravenously and intramuscularly.
