Indications
HORSES:
- As an analgesic: to relieve pain associated with colic of the gastrointestinal tract.
- As a sedative: for sedation after the administration of certain α2-adrenergic agonists (detomidine, romifidine). For diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as minor surgeries.

- Monotherapy: 0,1mg/kg (1ml/100kg of l.w.), IV. The dose can be repeated when necessary. The analgesic effect can be observed 15 minutes after the injection.
- With detomidine: detomidine chlorhydrate: 0,012mg/kg IV, followed after 5 minutes by butorphanol: 0,025mg/kg IV.
- With romifidine: romifidine: 0,04 – 0,12mg/kg IV, followed after 5 minutes by butorphanol: 0,02mg/kg IV.
