Description

PHARMACEUTICAL FORM
Beige oily injectable suspension.

SPECIES
Bovine and porcine.

Indications

Infections associated with ceftiofur-sensitive bacteria.

Cattle:
For the treatment of bacterial respiratory diseases associated with Pasteurella multocida, Mannheimia haemolytica, and Histophilus somni.
For the treatment of acute interdigital necrobacillosis (whitlow, pododermatitis) associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum and Bacteroides melaninogenicus (Porphyromonas asaccharolytica).
For the treatment of bacterial components of acute postpartum (puerperal) metritis within 10 days after delivery associated with Escherichia coli, Arcanobacterium pyogenes, and Fusobacterium necrophorum: this indication is limited to cases where treatment with another antimicrobial has failed.

Swine:
For the treatment of bacterial respiratory diseases associated with Pasteurella multocida, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Streptococcus suis.

Dose / Application / Administration

Dosage and route of administration:

Cattle: Subcutaneous 
- Respiratory disease: 1 mg ceftiofur (as hydrochloride)/kg/day for 3 to 5 days, i.e., 1 ml/50 kg per injection.
- Acute interdigital necrobacillosis: 1 mg ceftiofur (as hydrochloride)/kg/day for 3 days, i.e., 1 ml/50 kg per injection.
- Acute postpartum metritis within 10 days after delivery: 1 mg ceftiofur (as hydrochloride)/kg/day for 5 consecutive days, i.e., 1 ml/50 kg per injection. In cases of acute postpartum metritis, additional supportive therapy may be required in some cases.

Pigs: Intramuscular 
3 mg ceftiofur (as hydrochloride)/kg/day for 3 days, i.e., 1 ml/16 kg with each injection.


Shake the vial well before use to return the product to a suspension. To ensure correct dosage, the animal's body weight should be determined as accurately as possible to avoid underdosing. Subsequent injections should be given at different sites. Since the vial cannot be punctured more than 50 times, the user should choose the most appropriate vial size.
