Indications
Treatment for respiratory tract infections in horses caused by Gram-negativesaerobic bacteria sensitive to gentamicin.
Dose / Application / Administration
Route of administration:
Intravenous.
Dosage:
Single dose of 6,6mg/kg of body weight intravenously once a day for 3 – 5 consecutive days. The weight of the animals should be determined as accurately as possible to avoid underdosing or overdosing. The dosage must not be exceeded.
It is not recommended to use gentamicin in foals or newborns.
The safety of this medication in pregnant mares has not been proven. Nevertheless, studies in laboratory animals have shown nephrotoxic effects on the fetus. Use only in accordance with the benefit-risk assessment made by the responsible veterinarian.
