Indications
HORSES:
For the treatment of bacterial infectious diseases caused by pathogens sensitive to benzylpenicillin.
General bacterial infections (sepsis).
Infections of:
For the treatment of bacterial infectious diseases caused by pathogens sensitive to benzylpenicillin.
General bacterial infections (sepsis).
Infections of:
- Respiratory tract.
- Urinary and genital system.
- Skin, claws and hooves.
- Joints.
Dose / Application / Administration
HORSES:
Route of administration:
Intramuscular.
Dosage:
15mg of benzylpenicillin procaine per kg of live weight, equivalent to 0,5ml of this medication for every 10kg of live weight.
The duration of the treatment is 3 days, with an injection every 24 hours. Although a clinical response is usually seen within 24 hours, it is important to continue the treatment for a further 2 days.
If there is no improvement within three days of starting therapy, a new diagnosis or change of therapy may be indicated.
The safety of this medication during pregnancy or lactation has not been proven. Use only in accordance with the benefit-risk assessment made by the responsible veterinarian.
