Indications
- Broiler chickens: treatment of chronic respiratory disease and mycoplasmosis caused by Mycoplasma spp. sensitive to doxycycline.
- Preruminant calves: treatment of respiratory infections caused by Pasteurella multocida and Mannheimia haemolytica sensitive to doxycycline.
- Pigs: treatment of respiratory infections caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida and/or Bordetella bronchiseptica sensitive to doxycycline.
Dose / Application / Administration
Route of administration:
- Broiler chickens and pigs: administration in drinking water.
- Preruminant calves: administration in milk.
Dosage:
- Broiler chickens: 10mg of doxycycline (hyclate) + 1mg of bromhexine hydrochloride/kg live weight/day (equivalent to 0.1ml of medication per kg live weight/day), for 4-5 consecutive days. The weight of the animals must be determined as accurately as possible to avoid underdosing.
- Pigs: 10mg of doxycycline (hyclate) + 1mg of bromhexine hydrochloride/kg body weight/day (equivalent to 1ml of medication/10kg body weight/day) for 4 - 5 days.
Medicated water must be prepared fresh every 24 hours.
- Pre-ruminant calves: 10 mg of doxycycline (hyclate) + 1 mg of bromhexine hydrochloride/kg body weight/day, for 4 - 5 days (equivalent to 1 ml of medication/10 kg body weight/day). Once reconstituted with (artificial) milk, the solution should be consumed within 6 hours.

Timeouts:
Calves (preruminants):
- Meat: 16 days
Its use is not authorized in lactating animals whose milk is intended for human consumption.
Pigs:
- Meat: 5 days
Broiler chickens:
- Meat: 4 days.
Its use is not authorized in laying birds whose eggs are used for human consumption. Do not use within 4 weeks from the start of laying.
The safety of the veterinary drug during pregnancy and lactation has not been demonstrated in pigs, so its use in pregnant or lactating sows is not recommended. Do not use this medicine in laying birds.
